m4k2004's Journal, 21 September 2010

Okay, so weighed in today. And at first I was pretty pissed with myself. The other day when I weighed, it was 216.9...today was 216.3..only 6/10 of a pound and I have been starving and doing a LOT more activity (playing with kids outside, cleaning house, etc.) than I normally do...besides I had lost 3 pounds in 4 days from my previous weigh ins...so why only 6/10 of a pound? I come home angry...but then I realized...I still lost some weight....a small amount but it was STILL a loss....and those 10ths count...so from this point on....I will always weigh in those extra tenths...

The good news is I saved enough calories today eating low calorie foods that I was able to enjoy a half a cup of Mayfield Chocolate ice cream. Moderation is obviously the key for me. I am eating less than half of the calories I used to eat (boredom eating) and no the weight isn't coming off as fast as I would like, but it is coming off....Now...I must get a set of scales at home so I don't have to drive to Bi-Lo every single time I want to weigh.
216.0 lb Lost so far: 3.0 lb.    Still to go: 86.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

One of the most important things about weight loss is keep the rate of weight loss in perspective. We all lose at different rates, based on many factors (age, activity level, current weight, types of foods we eat, genetics). Some weeks we overeat and lose big and others we don't eat enough but show a gain. It's all a part of the journey. You are off to a great start. Great job on the loss.

I love ice cream too! 100 calorie Skinny Cow ice cream bars really really help!

Thanks rockgirlnyc and gonna lose it, those are both excellent choices. I think it just feels good to eat something I enjoy and is not diet food...all because I made the effort to foster the ability to add that in there by watching what I eat all day. However I am going to try your suggestions as well...I do have a sweet tooth and those might help when I just need something!
