LadyTellisa's Journal, 26 May 2010

Well, I have hit a plateau.... cuz I did everything right this week. We knew it was gonna happen, and I am ok with it, I am. OK, I cried, not ok with gaining 3 pounds back, but I am telling myself it is muscle and eventually it will start to eat my fat. I started a challenge, and I am going to stay on track. I added more protein to my diet, so will take it one day at a time, and see what the scale brings next week. I have even added a crap ton of yard work to my daily regime, LOL. I will get through this :)
204.5 lb Lost so far: 77.5 lb.    Still to go: 54.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

If you have honestly been on plan all week, then the weight gain is most likely water. It could be from many things from humidity, stress, sore muscles from working out, hormones, medications, too much sodium in the diet, etc. Drink extra water and stay on plan. It will go away.

Hang in there - this weight loss thing is all about finding the right combination. I share your frustration with how disheartening a gain can be...after so many good weeks I gained a few weeks ago. It is maddening, sad and a royal pain. After a good cry, it is time to get back on track. Here's to a great week ahead for you! :-)

I agree with Role. I gained a couple pounds even though I've been following the plan. We all know this journey has it's ups and downs, but it's important we stay the course. You may also want to check to make sure you are getting enough fiber. Sometimes that can make a significant difference in weight loss. I try to get at least 20 grams a day.
