So odd, im not trying to lose anymore weight and yet it keeps going down a little while i have been bumping up my calories and im not working out just walking 4 miles a day. Is it the concentration for last 7 weeks of 100-120 grams protein? Is it the refeed i see folks on here talking about tho if its a refeed its a 7 week refeed of higher calories. Hmmm

Possibly still some swelling going down. You're doing great.

Your new body is getting to know itself. Adapting.

How do your pre-surgery clothes fit now? If you’re still healing, there will be protective fluids built up, and that’s a good thing. Are you still eating gobs of protein? A lot of protein has high sodium, which causes water retention. So if you’ve backed off, this loss may be the result.

In looking at your diet calendar you are still showing more calories out than calories in so agree with JB. I don't know how refeed works I just try to stay consistent with my calories in except for Saturday. Have to enjoy life too! How are your scars healing?

maybe your body is using extra calories to heal. Injuries (even from planned surgery) are an extra stressor on your system, so it might be that you are actually burning more calories than you think.

I agree, that sounds plausible, that you are using energy to heal.

Hope you are feeling better.

I agree with those who suggest that your body may be using some calories to heal and recover. You may want to use this as an opportunity to eat more calories...

SHIRFLEUR thats what i was thinking but hubs doesnt think there is that much swelling left. Just some in lower abdominal area. Inches are staying the same. Was hoping to get my old 24-25” waist back but nope, still at 28 and suspect thats where it is going to stay.

Erika, good point right? It’s probably so confused like…massive surgery last year, massive surgery this year cant you just leave me alone (my body talking to my brain😂)

JB-they are a little big. I was 138 day of surgery and wearing size 2-4. I prefer to stay in a 4 due to my height…but i just bought a pair of jeans and they were a 24 which I’ve never been that small before. Don’t know what that equates to in normal sizing but def smaller than I’ve been before. Could just be the brand tho. Sizes aren’t the same universally. Im still trying to get at least 100 grams of protein in but backed off of 120.

RPL-my scars are healing really really well except under left armpit where 4 stitches came out and had to be restitched. There it is bumpy and dont have complete mobility back in that arm. However, i am being really good about using silicone scar tape on all scars which has helped to super flatten them. Super surprised for being 7 weeks out at how good they look. Im hoping this higher calorie thing sticks with no weight gain as it’s pretty tough staying around 1000 calories.

Seeking sanity there’s probably some truth to that. It was a pretty big and long surgery.

Caraken-thank you so much. I feel fantastic except for tightness in tummy which is to be expected for quite a while i hear.

John-i most definitely am using this as an opportunity to eat more calories but im doing it cautiously. Definitely dont want to backslide into chubs again. Was a lot of work to get back to healthy. We all know this truth im sure😂

I had a similar experience when I became underweight. It can take a while for the body to learn to gain weight, due to many factors (some you have touched on). I’m Not a dietician, but I do have a strong self education in nutrition due to my movement performance art/athletics/etc. Since I was a young adult (even from childhood, tbh).
