hollipop's Journal, 10 July 2014

Well, my weigh-in wasn't as low as I was hoping, but at least it's a loss and I'm certainly happy with that. I think part of it may be due to not enough water intake. I've only been getting in about 32 oz the last few days. I need to get in AT LEAST 48 oz to see a difference. Drinking fluids is hard for me. I'm a sipper and can last all day on a bottle of water if I don't make a conscious effort to drink.
Feeling a little nauseated today. Ate a bowl of cereal for breakfast and thinking I'll have some soup for lunch.
I stuck to my goal for dinner last night--grilled chicken breast and a bunch of veggies, yum! I was so full, I didn't miss my pasta/rice/potato side I would normally fix, nor did I want a sweet treat afterwards. Got my walking in as planned, plus completed some household chores (scrubbed kitchen, laundry, helped the boys clean their rooms) I only watched t.v. for about an hour and a half last night and half of that time I was on the treadmill. The rest was during dinner and while folding laundry. Glad I wasn't just laying there doing nothing. Makes me feel like my evening was alot more productive. I'm thinking supper tonight will be grilled pork chops with broccoli and carrots. That sounds yummy!
Oh! Self-control alert!! I fixed macaroni and cheese for the boys last night, per their request, and I didn't even TASTE it. So proud! Normally, even if it's not part of my meal plan, if I fix something for the boys I have to try a bite, but I didn't. yay! Maybe my willpower is returning! Anyway, have a great day everybody! Wishing ya'll success! ;)

That's self control right there! I don't think I could have done it. Honestly what has helped me is making meals from this site dhftns.com. His recipes taste delicious, and most are kid friendly. Plus desserts that won't break the bank lol, and he breaks down calories and servings. Win win!

Also I drink between 64-90 ozs of water a day. I carry a bottle that holds 32oz and sip on it from wakeup till noon then refill it and sip till bed. Adding ice makes it go down smoother. I was never one to even drink any liquid all day, but keeping myself hydrated has done wonders for my mood and no more headaches!

Wow! His recipes look really yummy! Gonna have to try a few of these. :) I do drink more when I drink out of a straw. Don't know why. Guess I'm gonna have to start carrying a cup around with me rather than water bottles.
