SATURDAY, 1/20/18 not SUNDAY 1/21 - I keep forgetting to record my Journal entries at night, and then the next day, when I try to record them (even though I show the calendar on the RIGHT day), it records them on the current day. AND, my 1/19/18 entry is now showing on EVERY day. HELP! Anyway, wherever this shows up, it IS my 1/20 entry!

Saturday was a good day, despite satan’s trickiest wiles to try to get me to blow it. I picked up my grand daughter (age 7) to go see the Julia Roberts movie “Wonder.” Knowing that we ALWAYS order a Large Buttered Popcorn (with THREE layers of butter) and a Large Diet Coke, I planned ahead. Into my purse, I stuffed a regular water for me, a flavored water for her, one Orange Creamsicle Jell-O Creamsicle Gelatin Cup for each of us (with spoons), and 30 Almonds (one serving) for me, just in case I caved and got HER a small popcorn. So far, so good, right?

Well, when I bought the tickets, showing my Regal Cinema card, it just HAPPENED that I had earned a FREE drink and a FREE popcorn!!! Now that’s just not fair! But, I bravely told the guy that I would NOT like to redeem them at this time, and we had our pre-planned snacks at the movie. VICTORY in Jesus!

Now, my grand daughter is only 7 years old, but weighs 85 pounds, and she likes to eat ALL the time. Whenever she’s at my house, I give her healthy, low-carb foods. Right before going to bed, she wanted to have some warm milk and the other half of the avocado she had eaten earlier. I used to ALWAYS eat something IN bed right before I went to sleep. Usually, it was six Ritz crackers with butter on them. SO, being tempted to have something in bed with her, I checked my stats and found that (even though I was already at 29.something Carbs, I still had plenty of NET carbs. So, BEFORE eating anything, I entered 1 slice of Pepperidge Farm Very Thinly Sliced Bread with 1 Tbsp of butter into my Foods, and it was within my NET carbs for the day. So, I went ahead and ate that.

Total Stats for the Day:
Calories: 1,607
Fat: 129.5
Carbs: 40
Fiber: 10.4
NET CARBS: 29.60
Protein: 64.47

I still consider it to be a victorious day, even though I “habit-eated” right before bed. BUT, the fact that I refused FREE Popcorn and FREE Diet Coke (my strongest addiction!), it was a definite WIN for me!

Lol I agree with you completely Debbie...this is a lifestyle and you will make some choices that may not follow according but you are on the right path to a successful way to feeling great. I too so love popcorn and the smell in the cinemas will be a huge trail when hubby and I go again... satan get behind me... I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me including not buying popcorn ;) I will use your tactics Debbie and bring along low carb snacks I like pork rinds and this is a fave for snacking... also Im going to need Jesus holding my hand 100% when I go ..sounds like you did a great job and you enjoyed that special time with your granddaughter I hope you are feeling better and your in my prayers to be successful with all that you do:)
