Hi, I’m Debbie Cousins. I’m 68 years old. Until I was 22 years old, I could eat as much as I wanted of ANYTHING I wanted to eat, and still maintained a slim and attractive figure. Even when I was thin, though, I always thought I was too fat, and compared myself to everyone around me. I guess if you tell yourself something long enough, it becomes true.

My all-time high weight was 302 pounds (at which time, in 2004, I had gastric bypass surgery). I lost over 100 pounds and was 185 for a MINUTE, before settling into a comfortable range between 195-205 for about 8 years. Then, I began to steadily go back up again – to a post-surgery high of 248. A couple years ago, I lost about 35 pounds using a paleo/keto blend. By the end of the Thanksgiving/Christmas gluttony, I started 2018 at 220, and had a good year of maintenance and weight stabilization. Started 2019 at 194, and met my first goal of 175 on April 4th, 2019! After that, I went totally hog-wild and pig-crazy, and shot back up to 257.5 before starting to turn things around December 27, 2020.

During the 6-month period from December 2020 through June 2021, I lost 60 pounds (most of it by fasting for a crazy 58 days!) This put me just under 200 pounds, and I stayed there for a MINUTE before going right back to my old ways, and gaining almost all of the weight back.

4/21/23 UPDATE: Began a new WOE on 6/23/22 at 258.6 pounds. After 10 months, I have made it below 200 pounds. "Diet" plan consists of counting calories, recording everything I eat, not depriving myself of the things I love.

Daily Accountability Challenge
If anyone would like to join our weekly challenge, we'd be glad to have you with us. We've been doing these for over three years now, and they've been a blessing to many people.

The great part about this challenge is that you only do the Mini Challenges that fit with your WOE (Way of Eating). Do all six, or only one: (1) If You Bite It Write It, (2) Drink at least 48 oz. of water daily (3) "Increase" your Exercise or Activity, (4) Get 20g dietary Fiber a day, (5) Keep Net Carbs at 30g or less, (6) Increase fat to 60%.

So, for instance, if you only are interested in tracking everything you eat, and drinking water every day - this can work for you.

Here is the link to join this coming week's challenge. It starts on Monday: Daily Accountability 2022-#35

Hope to see you there!

Encouragement
Philippians 3:12-14 (Easy-to-Read Version - ERV):

"I don’t mean that I am exactly what God wants me to be. I have not yet reached that goal. But I continue trying to reach it and make it mine. That’s what Christ Jesus wants me to do. It is the reason He made me His. Brothers and sisters, I know that I still have a long way to go. But there is one thing I do: I forget what is in the past and try as hard as I can to reach the goal before me. I keep running hard toward the finish line to get the prize that is mine because God has called me through Christ Jesus to life up there in heaven."

Accepting Request to Follow
Hmmm. I have mine set up to automatically accept follow requests. Perhaps if you go into Settings and change your preference to automatically approve follow requests it will allow those you have to go through, and then you can change it back -- or leave it open unless you are getting too many requests.

Hello :-)
@Mikie, I can't seem to find how to post on your wall, so I will address you here. CONGRATULATIONS on making the decision to join the "Daily Accountability 2019-#1" Challenge!!! So far, it's just the two of us, but I'm praying there will be lots more people who find it and feel led to participate. I did several of these last year, and had 20+ people in most of the groups. Most of us can do "the right thing" for a week. Almost ALL of us can do it for one DAY! That's the beauty of the DAILY Mini-Goals! I wish you much success, and will be encouraging you along your journey!
