Kata Strophic's Journal, 18 October 2017

Is there anyone who only posts weight when you've lost and not when you've gained? I'm so down about gaining some weight back and trying to look forward, but so stressed out and anxious about so much that everything is getting me down.

I only post a gain if it's a real gain. The day after a heavy salt day isn't real weight gain. But, if it's been a few days and I'm still up, I will post it, just to be honest with myself.

Thanks for the feedback. I get so discouraged when I see the line go back up that I'll probably just keep my last weight as a goal. I'm being honest with myself offline--ha ha!

I used to not record it.. but it helps seeing that you can beat your ups..it motivates me at least to keep trying :) So even if it is a small gain probably due to MANY factors, if it's weigh in day (which is about every 2 weeks for me) I still post it :)

I do the same, only if I keep that 2-3 for more than 2 days

I know what you mean. I've been gaining instead of losing. I think maybe I've been a little down. I need to get more motivated and even with health issues it hasn't got me going. Uggg.

the only weight you should be counting are the weights in the gym.

When I know I went overboard with my calories intake I`m scared to get on the scale. But I do weight myself and what ever I gained I record on FS. I feel ashamed and embarrassed but that`s life, nobody is perfect.

I just post every couple of days, just to keep myself honest and aware.

I post both. We all have our good weeks and not so good weeks. I weigh myself each week but I go more by my body and how it looks. Just because you gained one week doesn't mean it is body fat. It could be water weight, muscle etc.

Be honest, don't lie to yourself. I do gain weight sometimes... If I feel that I just have to take it easier or take a vacation, I relax and, basically, eat whatever I want but in some moderation... Like, I won't eat the whole cupcake, but taste it :) I won't eat chips if they are not perfection and if yes, then only 5-10 strips, no more. But I know these periods I will gain weight. I accept that. Just stick to timeframes. If it's a cheat day - one day only. If you took a vacation for a week, then it's a week, not 8 days. Come back to routine, it's hard at the beginning but easier than from the start. About weight in. You should weight in the same day a week in the morning, same hour. I have different of 2 -4 kg morning-evening and different days. If you're a female, period time will add a lot, don't even weigh in then, just depressing. Good luck!!!

I post my weight , exercise activity and major reasons for the short term weight changes . The 2 big favors for weight reduction is: what you eat And Regular exercising That's the bottom line

I weigh myself everyday and post everyday. I don’t go by daily weight gain or loss I go by my weekly average. There are many things that effect your weight, salt and dehydration, to name a couple. If I was to only weigh in once a week and work hard at losing for that week and have a weigh in that was bad then I would be disappointed and somewhat disheartened. I like my system, it works for me! I also weigh myself about the same time daily (morning) after a large glass of water. I don’t wear clothes when I weigh in either. I stay consistent with this routine and it works for me.

Averaging is probably the best. But - if you use different scales or yours isn't accurate, you will only get an approximation. I didn't trust my old scale, so I bought a mechanical balance beam scale like used in doctor's offices.

I'm trying to keep myself honest so I post even when I gain, to see my fluctuations. Because I want to see if there is a pattern. I am trying to keep my fast days the same each week and my carb up days. To see if there is a trend in weekly loss/gain.
