Happy Tuesday, my Fabulous Followers:

Last Saturday's Experiment was a fail. Today's weigh-in at the gym was UP one pound. It amazes me how well I KNOW my OWN body. If I increase the calories with carbs (ostensibly for energy), I will hold water and gain on the Idiot Box.

I understand the numbers, and the impact of long term diets on the metabolic system... but,I will hold water and gain on the Idiot Box.

I will lose slowly following my own plan - but I will lose. Under 1300 calories a day, about one gallon of water a day, and carbs 15% and under.

Paleo/Keto is what works. Never question yourself. You KNOW your OWN body.

Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle - Tom Venuto

Short Range Goals:
* Macros 60%-70% fat, 20-30% protein, 10% carbs - better under 10%!
* Back in the "Blue" on Idiot Boxes while retaining muscle by year end 2017

* Drink at least 12 - 16 cups of fresh water daily - especially on gym days
* Continue HIIT mixed in with weight lifting four to five days a week
* Keep up the training notebook to achieve progressive overload

Long Range Goals: 2017-2018

HCB, I find it interesting how this journey makes us pay attention to what our bodies are telling us. Good that you are listening. It has helped me with also honing in on asthma triggers.

Ha, yes, the water retention. I've been wondering what's behind having better muscle definition (especially in midsection) now at 22% fat than I did decades ago at 17% in far better shape. Was it the carbs I was living on, to keep up with training? --- I'm still very low-key with exercise, but keeping an eye on your model for when I'm ready to up my game.

A wise person once said, "Know thyself". What I'm learning is that a corollary, or precursor to that is, "Discover thyself". One of the most fun things about my journey has been the experimenting. With goals in mind, trying different combinations, additions or subtractions has made it interesting and (mostly) fun. Above all else, the goal is to truly LIVE, in ways that make us happy, wise and fulfilled.

Kes, yes!!! I have found this weight loss journey isn't a weight loss journey so much as a mental journey discovering a way to live at peace with oneself. Without that the choices we make are often destructive to us personally. Choices in food and exercise are only part of the whole. This journey to healthier affects every aspect of my life and I suspect the same is true for most of the people on this site.
