@philrmcknight's Journal, 21 March 2017

It was around this time last year I hit my original goal of 220 pounds, I don't recall the exact date, but it was well ahead of schedule. I started in June of 2015 at ~450 pounds. Took less than a year to lose 230 pounds. Find what works for you and stick with it. You, too, can reach your goals. Ignore people that think they have all the answers, they don't. I don't. Weight loss is a personal battle fought both within the physical realm and in the mind and you've got to address both if you wish to be successful. Good luck to everyone fighting their battles, it's worth the work!

Great words, Phil. You've described in detail what worked for you along your journey but you've never preached it's the only way. Wishing health and happiness to you and your family! 🤗

You look amazing and good for you. Must feel really great, as it is a real challenge to lose that much weight. You must also feel really proud of yourself. Cheers.

Fat Secret really helped keep me on track. Lots of great support and advice here, people that have done it all kinds of ways, people that change it up, people that gain some back, and lose it again. It's not a linear journey, for dang sure, ups, downs, in's, out's, just got to keep doing it because the work's never finished.

I think you are the poster child of determination. When I see posts from dieters that only lose 10 pounds in a year, I get the feeling that they've become resigned to their W.O.E. and I wish they could be shown your charts for a boost of inspiration. You don't kill yourself in the gym. You've changed (lowered) your caloric intake and diet to one that can be maintained easily for a lifetime, and that is the true & lasting way to stay slim. I tip my hat to you, sir.

I started on "Pi Day" 3/14. lost 9.5 pounds at 1400cal. per day. looking back at my history on this app. I relized I lost 50-55lbs in 8 months. it gave me hope. you give me hope. Most of all God has given me hope! My weight loss endeavor is starting at 337 goal 260.

You are so right. Some time it takes a bit of a shock factor as it did me. It wasn't until the shock factor kicked in and I decided ok, now you really have to do something. I am boarder line diabetic, with thyroid disorder. It has been so hard for me to loose weight. A person who was able to loose weight any time she wanted, now I can't do it at all. I have tried so many times, with no result to where I gave up. That is until my friend who also suffer full blown diabetic, showed up at my house and had lost her foot. That's when the weight factor really kicked in for me. I once again gave up soda, cakes, cookies, candy, never was to fond of chips. I also gave up sugar.....These are all my favorite things. I find now I am eating more healthy and have more energy. Not so tired now all the time. I might not be able to loose as fast as I would like to as I did before, but I have not gave up after a week so far. I have been monitoring what I eat and not eating outside. I take my lunch with me no matter where I go. I stuff something healthy in my purse. I have been eating lot of veggies and fruit, even drinking coco nut milk instead of soda and Gatorade and powerade. Thank you for sharing it help me to hang in there and most of all congrad to you in your success.
