pondlady51's Journal, 04 December 2016

Down 6 pounds this past week. Excited, but I also know that it is mostly water weight. Once that is gone the real challenge happens... losing the Fat and inches. I have 82 pounds to go. It seems like an impossible challenge. I hope I can get support from members here to keep me on track and accountable.

You can do it. Squueze out fat and carbs wherever you can. Ground turkey breast and venison even make the Dean Ornish list along with some fish and scallops which are also meats with less than ten percent calories by fat. People argue about fats and carbs. Limit both. Never add olive oil or butter to anything. You can get a bigger volume of food by eating cheese or something else instead of that pat of butter. Look at the size of 100 calories of cheese versus that same number of calories in oil or butter. Diet sodas are your best friend

There are many here who successfully follow a Low Carb, High Fat diet. So, your way is one way. I do better with higher fat and lower protein. Pondlady, many here have lost as much as you are aiming to. Stick to your program and the pounds will melt, probably not as fast as you wish, but consistency will get you there.

When I first started I had 85 lbs. to lose and now it's down to 48. I lost it on a HFLC diet that I'm kind of taking a rest from right now. I guess now you could say I'm on my own diet but I'll probably go back to HFLC after the holidays. You can do this, and there's a lot of support to be had here.
