Greetings Buddies!
NEVER.GIVE.UP
I saw the trainer today for bodyfat caliper measurement - I am down 3.4% bodyfat and lost 7.2 pounds since May 15th.
See? Even us old fat people can improve!
When I lose another 3% bodyfat, I will be in the average bodyfat range for women my age (29%). Of course my weight and BMI will still be too high...but it is a work in progress.
Words of the Week: "The true competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit."
I am dedicated, determined and diligent.

BMI is a false standard. Too much emphasis is put on it. According to BMI, Bodybuilders with 5% body fat are obese! As a teen, my daughter had a 'thick' middle from years of doing sit-ups the wrong way. (Muscles developed in her mid-section.) Her body fat was 20%, which is where female athletes should be! Her BMI, however, said that she was overweight, so she starved herself, lost muscle mass, and fainted on the mat - twice! Now, she has health problems related to poor nutrition.

MM, sorry what happened to your daughter. I won't rely solely on BMI

Did you ask your trainer what his height/weight are? Perhaps he would like to show you what those (Evil) calipers show his BMI is. But seriously, I'd like to know what a truly fit & healthy person's stats are.

Good for you!! Yup we can improve, turning 66 next week!! I'm trying to get that 6 pack back that I had at 15. My 14 yo granddaughter thinks that's funny, she is quite the athlete, actually both of the GD's are. .
