I am having the craziest cravings. Veggies Veggies and more Veggies. Just goes to show doesn't matter what the food is, when you try to limit it, you want it.

I am going to skirt the upper limit of my carbs for a couple days and get it out of my system so I can go back to being a good girl. At least my calories will be way under lol.

I am getting back into a decent rhythm running again so I feel pretty good. It was 40 degrees today so I got a good 3 mile run in which makes me very very happy. Runners gotta run....

However I learned two things today. I can do that monster hill that I absolutely hate and I really can't do that monster hill I really hate! Ouchies my ass hurts lol.

You will conquer that nasty old monster hill and dance on the top of it just like Rocky did after he conquer his mountain of stairs lol. Have a fun weekend and always enjoy your moments even if its at the upper limit of carbs, you deserve it.

Yay - great running outdoors again, I bet! Look for the low carb veggies, maybe? I made some grilled eggplant last weekend and then I packaged it to divide into servings during the week - crazy but I craved it in between meals and wanted to eat all of it the same day - but I didn't.

Good that you are craving veggies1! Hey you will do that hill! You are still in a re-coup mode after being sick and the drain from your kids being sick. MMM grilled eggplant sounds good. Will have to put that on my list for after Easter, need to get some gas for the grill.

Usually when I get cravings of any kind I eat either a tsp of butter or a tsp of coconut oil (preferably the coconut oil as I like butter but just plain coconut oil - eeew), and that solves it. Make sure you get all your needed fiber and supplements as well.

Aww thanks. I am lucky in a way that my life has been very insulated(or isolated depending on your perspective I suppose). I haven't had a lot of the temptations that a lot of you have had. You obsess over chicken wings....I obsess over tomatoes lol. Having had kids with disabilities for the last 25 years, I don't get out much and haven't in a very long time. When I do, it's families with the same diet issues/allergies, etc, so social eating is really a non issue. When you can't eat dairy and you prefer vegetables/vegan, eating out isn't so attractive anymore eh? Having been valued on my looks from a young age and having been treated differently has made me somewhat socially awkward. I had to travel a lot and missed a lot of school. Hasn't made for very many successful relationships either lol. I am happy being alone right now. So anyhoo I really appreciate all of you. That I can be myself and not feel judged is huge for me. I am very glad I came to FS and only regret that I was a lurker for so long.

Nichol, I understand the prefer veggies. No meat needed. Last night my dinner of rice, beans, peas, and cauliflower was delish! Used the cow peas(actually a legume) I had already cooked in a dish that would have normally been made with dahl (lentils)..I kept waking up dreaming of making this the night before, I know odd. My body isn't happy with much animal protein.

I completely understand you. Especially as a vegetarian doing Atkins (more or less).

I thought fruits were bad on Atkins but veggies ok. I couldn't do a diet like that myself. I love fruit, veggies and dairy. I'm less thrilled about meat but eat it once daily usually or I'd never get enough protein.

The thing with a vegetarian diet is, it's so varied. Different colours and textures and tastes. It's one of the reasons everyone says its so difficult to do atkins as a vegetarian. Trying to keep it to 5 or 6 veggies is tough as well as boring when you are used to a rainbow.

It would be extremely hard.
