HCB's Journal, 30 September 2014

Greetings my Buddies!

Things are a lot smoother the last few days! We just finished several glorious, sunshine filled warm days here in the North Country and now...about 50 degrees with cloudy and windy conditions. Looking like Fall is here!

I have been staying with my 30 Day Challenge by logging food, sleeping enough, drinking water, meeting my protein goals and exercising! I finally got over my cravings for carbs...I did have some bread over the weekend but logged it all and got of rid it pretty quickly!

That Italian bread is like CRACK, folks. White flour, yeast and all carbs! Yikes, I have to run from that stuff!

Fortunately, my challenge nutrition goal is about keeping the protein grams up over 130 per day, and I am rocking that goal! In fact, eating more protein makes workouts more productive because I have tons of energy, and it seems to make walking away from the extra carbs easier, too.

I recently have read a few journals where people are really "mean" to themselves and seem to expect perfectionism daily. Give yourselves a break - we are human and doing the best we can. Be accountable and honest with yourself but we do not need to beat ourselves up.

So the word of the week is forgiveness.

The word of the week is
FORGIVENESS.

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent.

You could eat whole grain bread, it's also delicious and it's good for us. I agree with you that some people make all these unrealistic plans for their diets and exercise and when they fail they are very disappointed in themselves. We do the best we can. The other day in my diet plan were whole grain cookies but that day I was like F**k that, I'm gonna eat some chocolate LOL and I wasn't mad at myself.

Fall indeed! We've had some great weather here too! Glad you were able to indulge in a little bread without going overboard!

Bread IS so addictive, isn't it? Crack is the perfect description of it.

Somethings are easier to avoid completely than to try and control. Anything with white flour or sugar would fall into that category for me. :-)

Forgiveness is the word. Thanks for writing that. I also love seeing your quote at the bottom of your journal: I am dedicated, determined, and diligent. So positive!
