Greetings Buddies!

So, on Saturday we leave the frozen tundra for Florida...hope they do not have anymore snow there! How ironic, right?

Typically when I vacation I start with good intentions. I bring some protein powder for shakes, raw almonds and buy fruit. Then, by the third day, I say "screw it" and start ordering foods I can do without...like breads, fried foods, desserts, etc.

Any good advice on how to moderate my vacation choices this time?

I am planning to go to Planet Fitness as a drop-in member and get in a couple workouts, too. BUT the trainer said I should just take walks and let myself rest...I am torn about that idea though...afraid I will get lazy and just overeat.

I am dedicated, determined, and diligent

By Saturday Florida should be back to its sunny old self. As for vacation eating, why go to extremes? Since you are on vacation, indulge yourself in the local selection of fresh fish, fruits and veggies (bet it will make you forget about the the rolls). You know you'll end up gaining weight but at least you can limit the damage and not ruin your vacation by descending into a carbohydrate daze.

If you are by the beach, take plenty of walks. It's so calming and a good workout. If you plan to eat out at night, try to make good choices for breakfast and lunch. I would focus on maintaining for a week and not so much losing. Seafood is great in Florida. I would indulge but not go hog wild.

Following in Suzi's post... the beach. How about some HIIT walks in the sand?

Enjoy the outside weather, get in a few workout and do what BuffyBear said, eat the fresh local stuff that you can't at home and maybe that will help. Besides your on vacation who wants to eat the same old same old. Maybe there will be some fun fruit to try.

Enjoy the fresh fruit and try to do lots of walking or swimming. Make good choices for two meals and enjoy dinner.

I don't vacation much so I usually take the time off from trying to eat healthy and indulge. (Usually too much... but, that's just how I vacation and it's only a few days or a week). But if you have the motivation then run with it!!

Florida, sun, warm ... sit outside, sip a nice cool beverage and remind yourself you don't need crappy food to enjoy yourself. The destination does not have to include the all you can eat buffet. Honor yourself by treating it well.

Just do the best you can to make good choices and roll with it. It shouldnt be an all out binge fest but if you want a drink or a dinner roll enjoy yourself. I try to eat low carb style when out and about to minimize potential damage. I hope you have great weather and a great time!!
