Sparks1971's Journal, 19 May 2018

Well it's been almost a week on OMAD and I am feeling pretty positive. The first 3 days were rough I was starving the first day and kind of run down the next two. The last three have been okay. I have been a bit worn out but that could just be not getting enough sleep. I was worried about today that I wouldn't be able to stick to one meal but I did. I went over my calories but I feel like that is okay since I was under calories for a few days. I noticed I wasn't hungry today that was a plus. I feel cleaner and lighter. I feel calmer and clear minded. I also feel like when I do eat I feel like my body uses the food better and I appreciate the food more. A few other benefits, I'm not spending as much on food, not spending so much time thinking about food, or planning meals. I feel like I can keep going!

Sparks1971, bouillon or bone broth for electrolytes, and coffee with MCT oil (powder or liquid) and/or ghee/butter for energy, might make OMAD a bit easier. I'm need to build electrolytes that in to my day, too.

Way to go! I echo your observations on how you feel while doing the OMAD thing. IMLTHO its quite alright to go over your cal target especially if you are in a pretty deep deficit over a few days. Weekends are the days I try to make sure I'm having more for that very reason. In my experience, it will come easier and easier as you get in the flow and figure out the mix of things that sustains you. I've found in myself doing the OMAD thing is learning what 'I need fuel' hungry feels like vs. 'I was something cuz its time or I'm feeling bad." hungry. Makes me look forward to a meal much more! Your comment 'I feel like I can keep going." is awesome. Means you have hit on something that is sustainable for the long haul, fitting both bod and life. Damn good for you!

You are rocking it! I know to do OMAD for me it takes a big breakfast. If I do anything else I am typically unhappy about it. But it's still worth it.
