sbrown24's Journal, 05 July 2012

I have been sort of MIA for a few days, truth is I kind of crashed. I think I was being way to strict with myself, causing me to lose interest so fast. Which is never good when you are trying to make a life style change. Not to mention over the weekend I got burned really bad being out in the sun too much and have just felt over all like crap. I am starting to feel a little better now. Still in a lot of pain on my shoulders and face. No matter how much you want to have a nice tan, USE SUNSCREEN. Man did I ever learn that lesson.

So this is me admitting that I had a bump in the road, but it is not the end of my journey. I heard something the other day that stuck with me "There is never failure, there is only giving up" I am not failing because I am not giving up. My husband pointed out that whenever I have a "bad day" I always give myself way to much time to recover which means I eat bad for a while. So say today I totally ate horrible, I would say well I can do better starting Monday. I can't keep doing that. I deserve better.

Every day is a new day! Even if you did poorly yesterday that does not need to carry over for today. Take it one day at a time and treat every day as new. Take the time to heal your sun burn, make sure not to add to it with more sun, and drink plenty of water. I hope you had lots of fun!

Hey Sbrown24.. take your time. You have the rest of your life to be thin! Take a pace that is good for you because each of our bodies are different. Instead of going to the fridge when you are frusterated, grab a fruit and go for a walk. Munch while you walk. If you end up eating something you wouldn't normally don't keep eating bad. Jump right back on the wagon this way the damage is minimal if at all. There have been many occasions when I ate something "regular" (not fat free etc) and actually still weighed in less the next day. It's all about portion sizes and focus. You can do it, my buddy.
