I made it! It's after 5 pm, and I have eaten no food since yesterday. By one definition, I never fasted, because I had fats, but fats have almost no effect on insulin. That is the point. I want to shut down my insulin responses. Tonight will be easy, because my habit is to avoid food after 3 pm.
While driving home this afternoon, I reasoned that if I made it one day, I can do two. Last fall while travelling, I made it 36 hours. Mostly, I gave in to the food out of boredom and anticipation. Fridays are usually very busy, so this can become my regular fasting day. Tomorrow will also be busy. Thursdays tend to be busy, so I may work up to a three day fast. Maybe not. I'll see how it goes. Sometimes, Saturdays are not busy.
Part of this plan includes limiting the hours per day in which I am allowed to eat. I am going to include my family in the plans. My birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I want them to quit focusing on food. We can DO something instead of eating.
