Hello and Happy Thursday Buddies!

Didn't journal yesterday because it was a short day at work and the fiance, although supportive of my journey doesn't quite get the need to keep a food journal, have buddies and submit journal entries on FS. He knows I do it, but it is met with a smidge of playful ridicule when he is in the mood to tease. So while I was home, I decided to keep my computer time to a minimum.

Left work yesterday at 11:30 for my annual physical. Everything is good, besides my weight. Still just slightly above obese, but close to being just overweight. BMI is 30.17. I have decided I am actually going to log my true current weight as of this morning and stop logging my weight from those dehydrated Saturday mornings. I know those numbers don't last.

After the doctor yesterday, I went home and made lunch. Then we went and got our free slurpees from 7-11. I have to say, even though I loathe mango (fruit and flavoring alike), the Fanta sugar free mango slurpee was ok enough that I drank it. 20 calories per 8oz... After slurpees, Ryan and I took the little one to the park up the street from our house. It was kinda short lived since it was hot and she is a bit of a chicken and not too adventurous, but it was a nice walk there and back with a little bit of running around. Side note: Monkey bars are not as easy/fun at 27 and out of shape as they were in elementary school. Especially without the callous buildup on your hands.

Managed to stay WAAAAAY under my RDI yesterday even though we had chili dogs for dinner. I think I need to drop my RDI a bit, but I am hesitant. We'll see about doing it next week depending on how this weekend goes. I did really good before when I was sticking to 1200 a day, but I was also exercising less. Maybe 1400 on a workout day and 1200 on a non work out day. IDK...

Got up late, but still went to the gym. Got in about 30 minutes of elliptical time, which kicked my butt. I used to use it a lot, but probably haven't been on it in 18 months or so. Started off at level 10 and eventually it dropped to 7, then 5. But I was good and sweaty by the time I was done.

I think I am making a new friend at the gym, which is nice. I don't have too many of my own friends anymore as we have all gone our separate ways since high school and I am not too great at keeping up with people unless it's via Facebook. She is my age, give or take a few years and about my size, except I am more bottom heavy and she is more top heavy. We starting chatting a few weeks ago while on the weight equipment. Today she came and got on the elliptical next to me and we began chatting. As I was leaving, I mentioned going to the 5:15am spin class tomorrow, since I had ran into the instructor yesterday and got the normal "we have a bike for you". I gave up going to spin a while back because I felt that I needed to spend less time doing cardio and more lifting weights. She gave me her phone number and told me to text her in the morning and she would meet me. Waaahooo for someone to be accountable to at the gym! I will go if I know there is someone meeting me there. Then after spin, I will have 30 minutes till I need to start getting ready... there is my weight time right there! I am pretty stoked.

Today's goal: Staying as far under my RDI as possible (no lower than 1200).

Sorry for the long journal guys! Have a great day!

I have found that making friends at the gym helps me a lot too. I went to a class last night at the gym and it was a lot more fun when you can talk to others that have the same goals. It definitely makes me want to go.

That's great that you found a workout buddy!! Definitely good to have someone to be accountable to other than yourself! :) Sounds like a great Friday morning you have planned! As far as your RDI goes, I vote that you start to only log your sleeping/resting/intentional exercise and see what FS says that you have burned - but I think you'd be fine keeping yourself at or under 1600, and then maybe 1400 on non-workout days. That 1200 number just makes me nervous if you have too many days where you're trying to be under that... but that's just me! :)

So close. Did you ever think you'd be excited to be 'overweight'? I know I was pretty happy when i made that jump...and now I'm back in that category, just chilin. It's nice to make new friends. I saw a girl out at the bar one night who I'd spoke to a couple times at the gym. We didn't acknowledge each other. Gym = healthy workout time. Bar = bad decision and binge drinking place!

I feel you on the hubby thing - they just don't understand fatsecret. But I remind him that if I weren't on here talking about diet/exercise I'd be talking his ear off about it, and then he stops picking on me about it lol. That's great to get a workout buddy, it can really help motivate you to get to the gym! That's the hardest part, getting there! Hope you had a good workout at spin!
