Hello!
This is my story: I moved from Austria to the United States in the end of October last year. My sports and eating habits changed dramatically. Today i weighted myself for the first time since I am here and I couldn't believe that i gained 22lb in 3 months. I am more than disappointed, how can a healthy eater and sports lover end up like this? I mean with clothes that are not fitting anymore, sleeping disorder, laziness, ... I can't even look in the mirror. Not just because I look much bigger but because I am ashamed that I lost the discipline I once had ..

I feel your pain. 10 yrs back I was pretty much a size 0. Took an office job, went up to 137 lbs because of no movement. I’ve gotten myself down to 123 but Im not consistent with exercise so I fluctuate up to 125 sometimes. I just started doing yoga and just a little with arm weights last week and even though Im not losing weight I feel not as flabby. I think I can get where I want to be and hope you can too!!

Yoga seems to be good not just for the body but also for the soul if you know what I mean... In the end everything starts in our mind. You have my full respect, keep going!
I work most of the time moving a lot but even though it's not enough for dropping that weight

I saw it coming! I felt like I am gaining weight but it just "shocked" me that it was that much.
Do you understand it better?

where in the US did you move? some places are more fir/places where people like to be outside like the west coast and colorado. other places like the Midwest , where I live- it's fat and carbs at every corner. and putting on weight is so easy here in america, it's like our national past-time.

It's good you are doing something about it now before it gets worse. Yoga is wonderful.I do a mix of yoga, weight lifting and running.

Sorry, There's there's a gap between I felt like and then I was shocked, your leaving something out.Any way 22lb gain is obtainable to lose, better now before it becomes a real struggle.

The good thing about gaining weight quickly is that you can lose it quickly, with effort!

I went up 30lbs over the year with life stresses a husband with cancer, my first son off to college. After some reflection, I realized that my weight is the one thing I have control over unlike my husband's health or the success or failure of my son away on his own. Once I framed it like that getting on track seemed easier. I would start with your struggle with sleep so important and affects everything. Hopefully, better sleep will offer you more stability and strength to tackle the self-discipline to lose weight. I know everything seems harder with no sleep. Stay strong. You got this! : )
