2426girl, When I subjested for you to add more carbs you replied I'm adding 300 more calories, no carbs, I felt the sting from that reply! if that came from one of your buddies you'll be all ears.
If your going to add all those cal's a very good portion of best be carbs because if you load up on more protein then the body needs some of the amino acids will turn into glucose which can reduce the body's ability to burn fat! I don't hang on to the past and I know your trying hard so I don't want to see you spinning your wheels.
I hope this info was helpful.

I don't know what the original comments were but, I don't get it. "Protein...amino acids will turn into glucose"??? Carbs turn into glucose much quicker, that's why carbs will spike your blood glucose levels much faster and higher than protein. So higher carbs will reduce the body's ability to burn fat much more than higher protein.

t_ann19, you just answer your own ? of course carbs do.She's talking about increasing her fats & protein only by 300cal she needs to balance that out with carbs to other wise the extra protein not used she could fall into what known as Gluconeogenesis an energy source that can reduce the body's ability to burn fat inhibiting fat loss! l don't know her original cal make up but lm pretty sure her carbs are low to start with.Read her journal, she busting butt and can't break her plateau. So she's asking and lm giving what I know works and what to beware of...I work out not as she does, lve been on this couch for two days packing on the carbs like lm working out,l weighed myself today no big deal I lost two pds my body is still burning off fat.but I'll go workout tomorrow to keep in check...you see my body knows it's going to get fed so it releases fat and these are solid losses I've gone from 247 to 221 the arrow has always pointed down.My long winded point is she can achieve weight loss if she puts her carbs first. I hope this info was helpful.

I will keep my carbs at 10% because I am in peak condition on that protocol. My doctor is thrilled with my numbers across the board. I am increasing my calories by 300 calories because of my activity. I will not be increasing my carb %. If I lose more weight, great. If I don't that's okay too. I am extremely lean with a body fat % of just over 22%. I will not belittle your higher carb plan. I hope you find success with it. I however am clearly finding great success with mine and would appreciate less suggestions unless they are in the way of support.
