Hey FS Warriors,
Sorry I haven't posted sooner, but between pain killers and the depression from losing my oldest fur baby I was pretty out of it. My surgery went well. The doctor found a second hernia in my lower abdomen when he opened me so surgery was more extensive than originally planned. I won't post a picture of it but if my follow up appointment to remove my drain hoses isn't until after Halloween I won't need a costume to be gruesome looking. The Dr planned to cut me open at the same place he did for the colectomy but the new scar is larger and extends both above (as before) and below my navel, so definitely no bikini for me next beach season.
Hope to return to work tomorrow at least for a partial day getting bored sitting at home. Plus no reminders of Pumpkin at work.
Last week was a week off between semesters for school which was good because term papers and percocet don't go well together. I managed to get A's in both my classes which was a pleasant surprise considering the chemo brain struggle. Start two new classes today which will help keep my mind busy.
Did a 1.25 mile slow walk yesterday and plan to do it again tomorrow evening to keep the blood pumping and at least maintain the habit of going to the gym/track while I can't run or do strength training over the next 3-5 weeks.
