Weekends sometimes create eating challenges. I tried to stay faithful to my protein "plan" to get back on track but had to deviate a little here and there since we were "out and about." My weight actually went up yesterday but today it was down to 209.6!!! YAY!!!! I think I might suffer a little from "all or nothing" thinking (okay I know I suffer from this condition!!! LOL!!!). When I deviate from a plan I am sorely tempted to "give up" and just eat "whatever." It is stinking thinking at its best. Because one deviation from a "plan" does not a "failure" make!!! Thank goodness we live in the boonies where there a very few late night food choices. If there were 24-hour coffee shops I would have dove into a hot fudge sundae or a thick shake or some other temptation over the weekend on our way home. What is it about being out and being up late that makes me want SUGAR????

Didn't do that though because pretty much NOTHING is open around here after 9 pm!!!

So this is the plan for the week. Stick with the high protein approach for the remainder of the work week. Saturday hubby and I have plans to go out for a steak dinner at a place that makes awesome steaks. That will be an indulgence day for me. I'm going to celebrate my 54th birthday and eat what pleases me on that day. Then I think I'll go back to high protein ... perhaps with alternating some protein/veggie days ala Dukan style. Haven't decided that quite yet.

Of course exercise too. That is good. I need to get back to Pilates. Not sure what my procrastination is about that but I have been procrastinating.

So barely I have dipped back into the single digits of 200-land. That is good. Just one week ago I was 221.2. Today I am 209.6. That is an amazing 11.6 lbs in just one week. Of course it wasn't all fat. No way. It reminds me ... that if I don't wait months and months and months to get back on track my body is fairly anxious to rebound to a healthier weight. It is when I detour for months on end my body gets stubborn and wants to hold onto every ounce. I have a thick skull. I clearly need to learn things over and over and over and over and over and over and over again!!! Oh well. At least I do learn. Eventually.

So anyway. That's my story for today. I hope everyone had a good weekend. Belated birthday wishes to my buddy Stef!!! She is a fellow Aries and a dear friend. I believe Bren's birthday is sneaking up on us too!!! Another strong minded woman!! I love it!!!

Well I best be about my business. Whatever that may entail today. We've had a little sun here and there over the weekend and it surely brightens my mood. Our road is still an awful mess but it will melt and firm up eventually. Mud season can't last forever.

Take care!!!

11.6 lbs in one week is AWESOME, Carol. You must be elated. That in itself should brighten your mood, but a little sun can't hurt. CONGRATULATIONS on you loss and a good plan to move forward. I am anxiously awaiting your ONEDERLAND . HUGS!

I think some of what you said hit home with me as well... the whole "if I don't wait months and months and months to get back on track my body is fairly anxious to rebound to a healthier weight". I keep telling myself that and I do see it on the scale when I'm "good"... just sometimes need reminding. Thanks!

Hey, Moose - it's not the learning, it's the practice that is tough! Like learning to play the piano, we have to learn what to do and then practice, practice, practice! Think "Carnegie Hall" !
