Still Learning. I wanted a piece of cake last night but instead I ate an Eat Right snack bar that just didn't do it for me. Before I knew it I had eaten six cookies. I let my sister who has maintained her weightloss for over 10 years talk me into it. While it may work for her it doesn't work for me. I am learning to cut down the amount of carbs I eat, but I will not stop eating sweets. Now that's me. I will not ever be on a diet again. I will continue to cut my portions and make healthier food choices, but I will never stop eating the foods I enjoy. That's what I learned about yesterday. Be Encouraged.

We don't have to give up anything. We have to temporarily abstain from certain things to encourage weight loss or we must expect delays in our weight loss if we indulge too often in items that take us off our chosen path. Even those who love us and wish us the best can sabotage us if we let them. The very most important thing is to not allow ourselves to feel any guilt no matter what we decide. If we can keep from internalizing negative thoughts and keep focused on the positive goals we're going to be much more likely to see the finish line. You be encouraged too. :)

Honey, I have found that if I am craving something its best to have at least a small portion..or I will eat everything else and eat more cals than if I would have just gone ahead and had what it was I was wanting in the first place..and don't feel guilty about it..Stay encouraged..:O)

I am on the fence about this too. I am an all or nothing person so it is hard for me to allow myself a small bit of whatever I am craving and not go overboard too. for me one bite does not work I have to not have any of it. My sister is the opposite one bite and she is ok with stopping. You just have to find what works for you and stick with it. Good luck

I love crisps/chips and chocolate and have learned to be satisfied with a small chocolate bar and lower fat & calorie crisps/chips, if \i didn't I wouldn't feel 'normal' I'd feel like I was on a diet. The minute I say to myself something is off limits I crave it (DH says I should say to myself he is off limits...lol) So I limit the amount rather than cutting it out completely, works for me....but you should follow whatever works best for you...LONG TERM!!!
