On May 19, 2015 my primary care physician informed me that I needed double knee replacement surgery but that she would not recommend me for the surgery due to my being overweight. She then stated that she would not prescribe me pain medication as she did not want me to remain in my current state with pain meds to keep me comfortable. That was my wake up call. Further, a dear friend recommended a great read titled "Prescription For Life" by Dr. Richard Furman. I am currently 279 pounds and need to lose 154 of them to gain and keep a healthy lifestyle that affords me the best life I can live...and so the journey begins.
