Olivia70's Journal, 10 February 2012

Started to go down in weight when I had only coffee for breakfast, or coffee and pistachios or coffee and an egg. Also kept calories at or below RDI. We'll see if it's a trend. I will probably end up with a similiar breakfast next couple of days. Maybe these breakfasts are helping me stay full longer. Seems meat for breakfast might be too much. Just thinking on paper. Will see what happens this weekend. Sweet and Low or Splenda don't seem to be affecting my weight loss as they are.

Working legs tonight, and lamb burgers with feta and tziki sauce sans the flat pita tonight. I will miss the bread and the sweet potato fries but the patties are substantial so will be full.

HI! lamb burgers with feta and tziki sound good! I am not on Atkins, but have been in past, I just keep my carbs lower than the average diet. I don't know how many carbs you are going to allow for youself but i found a tortilla that was low carb. Its OLE High Fiber/Low Carb Extreme wellness. I got it at walmart. Has 71 calories, 8 protein, 17 total carb, and 12 diatery fiber carbs. On the next phase of Atkins, it might work into your diet.

Yum! Great planning. Interesting to hear you mulling about the finer points. Discovered that if my breakfast is filling, eg. a serving of cereal with milk and a nonfat latte, the midmorning snack can be foregone (except for tea/liquids) and can wait for lunch at 12:30 to eat again. Hoping my body burns off some fat cells in that stretch of emptiness. ;-) Good going with your workouts!

I find that having eggs in the morning helps me to stay fuller longer (than my regular cereal) but I don't have time typically during the work week to make eggs and I don't know if having eggs every morning is good for my cholesterol. Good job with working out. I haven't integrated a lot of exercise yet. I wanted to get through the first three weeks of eating adjustments (hunger pangs) before incorporating exercise. One more week and then back to the gym...ugh.

When the time comes, get a REALLY good playlist happening on an MP3 player and turn gym time into a jamming session. Helps keep the mind off food and pumps us with much needed serotonin and adrenalin. ;-)
