Ugh, weigh in is tomorrow, I'm feeling like a bloated cow and as I look at my pie chart it totally sinks in on how much my body relies on carbs for energy. I'm not a very big meat person but I suppose it's time to really research protein ideas.

I need to get off this sugar and high carbohydrate train that I've been on all my life. I'm convinced that sugars are devistating our bodies and we just aren't aware enough to realize it. So...the question...where do I begin?

What types of carbs to our bodies actually NEED (not want..but require)? What foods can I rely on to be satisfying yet high in protein without always having to run to meat? Did I mention I'm not much into eggs either? I have a feeling there's a bit of research ahead of me!

I'd like to learn some of the same info. I've been doing low carb for several months on and off now (goal <35g, limit <70g per day). Nuts such as almonds can be very satisfying for me.

Do you really find carbs and sugar big of a deal? I've always kind of thought calories are calories. It really worked for me when I was training for a half marathon. Now that my exercise is not quite as vigorous and my age approaches 35 I am starting to really wonder if all calories are in fact not equal. Which foods do you try to avoid the most?
