Update 3-6-2012: I'm so close to my first goal, but I am not focused too much on the scale. I took up snowboarding in early January, so I've been building lots of muscle and therefore not loosing weight. What is happening is that my clothes continue to loosen and I keep feeling better! If this keeps up, that's all I care about!!
My name is Dave, 36 year old single dad of two teenaged girls who live with me.
About 7 years ago, I was in the best shape of my life. I got into a semi-long term relationship about 4 years ago (which ended about two months ago), and got too comfortable, and slowly gained lots of weight. I peaked out at 225lbs, and I'm 5'7".
I've been doing my own diet, which is just low carbs (<35g per day) and counting calories. I cheat the diet once a week, sometimes twice, to keep my sanity!
I found FatSecret looking for a calorie counter on my blackberry, and it has been wonderful in keeping me on track! Counting everything keeps me motivated, and seeing what others are doing is a great help.
I've been trying to do as much cardio as I can, I have a BowFlex Treadclimber at home. I recently started lifting weights again, had to wait to heal a shoulder injury.
I want to get the body back I had in my mid to late 20s!
