cls1992's Journal, 08 May 2017

Have had a not so good past 3 weeks. Was depressed; slept a lot; gave up on eating right; had an "I don't care" attitude, and an "I don't want to care" attitude to top it off. I gained four pounds. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it feels like 10 pounds. My new sized clothes are fitting too tightly. I feel bloated and am having problems moving around.

I wonder if psychologically I am sabatoging (sp?)my efforts. Am I
subconsciously afraid of being thin? I don't know.

But I'm back on track, now - struggling a little, but still making better choices.

Pray for me. I pray for you guys.

I suspect you simply slid back into old eating habits, as the new ones take practice. To make the decision easier, try cleaning out your kitchen of all the sweets, crackers, sodas, etc. That would tempt you. If it's not within reach, you increase your chances to stick with your new WOE.

Thank you for your support, encouragement and advice. I am back on track. I lost six lbs after gaining four. So I am feeling better. But I realize I need to work harder. I had become lax. I am in a good place today. Thanks again everybody.

I was in the same situation around the same time ago. I felt like my world had fallen apart. I'm still broken and empty but I couldn't stand the gut I created so I just said onward and upward, stop this foolish behavior and get yourself together. I did and am doing better with it. The fact you came back around is the first step so good job.

Good to hear that you are better! Depression used to be a "trigger" for me to comfort myself with food. Knowing this "pitfall" causes me to be proactive, with plan & support when I see ahead that I could slip up. Good job pulling out!

try this: write down "slim people are ..." and add all your thoughts about slim/thin people. Good and bad. You can find some crazy reasons why your brain blocking you from becoming slim. For example "Slim people are greedy, fat people more kind". It might help.
