Mirej's Journal, 02 February 2010

I guess the liquid retention & protein shake from last night are the result of my higher weigh-in today.
**lil' problem, my scale seems to have an issue, the battery died on me this morning and I am afraid I won't have the time to buy a new one until the weekend... Hmmmm!

I went to gym last night, the workout was very good, I am happy about it! I ran on treadmil for a bit longer than usually, it felt good! At the end, I was really exhausted!

Here is how I workout... I attend the gym every 2nd day if possible.
I get there, stretch my legs & arms and jump on a cardio machine, everytime I pick from treadmil, stairmaster and ellyptical, if TOM is there I go on the bike for cardio only, I avoid the full-body workout.

Then, I do the machines, I work out my legs, my arms, biceps, triceps, back, lower back, glutes, lats, chest... everything what!

And the ending is always on the floor, I take a mat, BOSU ball, a big ball, 10lbs weight ball or other and I do my sets... I workout on my abs, then my arms, my legs, mu butt and the mid section.

Always stretching between every machine and at the end of the workout I stretch my back too. Feels great... if this can help anyone or give tips, feel free to try it out! If there is any questions, I am open and will be more than happy to answer them!

Enjoy the rest of the week... considering the fact that it is Tuesday only, you have lots to enjoy! ;))

Wow, that is a heck of a workout. How much time do you usualy spend in the gym? or rather how much time does it take to go through all the above? Unfortunately the most I can spend in the gym is 45min to 1hr, which I guess is not too bad. Better this than nothing at all right? I also try to squeeze as much exercise in as possible at my job. I have all the equipment there I need, ankle weights, dumbells, stability balls etc, so whenever time allows I try to do something. At home I have the JM fitness ultimatum 2010 but I was only able to exercise with it 2 times because my 3-year old wants to play the regular Wii games and of course I can't say no :) Keep up the great work!

GEMINI.. when you have kids, your world changes and you are limited as to what and when you can do! I am still impressed that you find that 45min to 1hr to exercise!! That's good! I usually workout from 1:30hr to 2hrs... that's why I don't go every day, it would kill me lol.. I used to do it before but got too tired and exhausted every day, so I decided to cut it and have 1 day of rest one of workout, so far so good! I am going to tell you one IMPORTANT thing... no matter where you are & what equipment you have, you CAN lose weight, IF you follow this.... Good Diet & Regular Exercise COMBINED = Amazing Results! I worked out at home, on the mat, for about 1 to 2hrs every day in May 2009.. and that was every single day 200 crunches + exercising while loud music was playing & I was on a very healthy diet & very careful. That is when I started losing weight and getting in shape slowly! So... every machine is even better if you USE it... if you don't.. what difference does it make if it's in your home or in the store? lol... my point... you are enough fortunate to have the machine, if you use it wisely.. you can get better results even faster then what I started with!! Good luck to you... and thanks for writing in my journal ;)) Have a nice day!

You can't get a new battery until this weekend? That IS quite a workout mirej, possibly too much of one. But, it *has* to be your own way...

total body workout is exausting, and you are so right to do it every other day! that's what I like about exercising, whatever you choose to do, do it! it can be very flexible, from one muscle group each day to a total body 3 times a week, the most important is moving, and respect our bodies. you are doing great Mimi! I can't wait to see the picture of your 6-pack! it will come soon, I bet you!

Sound like a great workout I d like to try it. Can you tell me how many reps of each you do and for how long you run on the treadmill, etc. I will use this a goal and work up to that! Thanks, I am looking forward to hearing from you! By the way, you look great!

Anne, I am still sore... I increased the weights on the machines and I can feel it, it feels good to be sore again! I am fine with exercising every 2nd day, and I only do full body, unless I am sick! I feel lazy if I only do cardio and burn less than 300kcal... I am really tough on myself, but I have to be, otherwise I can go wrong again, that's something that I don't want to! ;))

Lydia I love working out, the hardest part is to pack my gym stuff and get out of the comfortable and warm home!! lol... once I get to the gym.. I love it, I am all pumped about it and I always have that feeling "gotta come back" lol.. which is good! :))

LaShuan... I will write it here if you don't mind, so that everyone can see, in case someone else wants to give it a try. Thanks for the compliment :) I am really happy that you want to try this, it works for me! So... here you go! I am using something called a pyramid technique while using every machine... that means... I stretch before getting on a machine, then I do 15reps for warm-up with a lighter weight. After that I do 15reps with that same light weight, then take a 30sec break, I increase the weight a little and do 10reps, take a 30sec break and finish with increasing the weight a little more and do 6to 8reps. I do 2 sets of each machine exactly like that. If you need more detailed explanation, let me know, I can send a PM to explain more. This technique works well and you build-up your body strength efficiently! On the mat, I do 2sets of various exercises, in that case I do not use the pyramid technique. A very importat thing, that most people never do -STRETCHING-...very very crucial, I do it before every exercise and after, it takes 10 seconds, really! It prevents you from hurting yourself and it's easier to workout, sometimes I forget and get cramps and pain and I stop the exercis, get-up, stretch and then I carry on. Any other questions, do not hesitate!
