Nisey's Journal, 29 January 2010

Today I just joined this website to keep track of my progress on my weight loss journey. I have at least 100 lbs to lose. So far in one month I have lost 11 lbs which means at this rate it will take at least until December to reach my goal. I will try and up my exercise program to help me reach this goal. I will keep better records of what I eat using this tool instead of guesstimating my net carbs. I feel good for this first month as I am not experiencing any negative systems. I am not hungry, craving foods or sweets and sometimes I don't even feel like eating but I do anyway just so I don't get ravenous. I'm trying to fit in snacks to keep from getting too hungry. I am unemployed at this time so it is wise to start this now when I have time to prepare foods and learn the rules of dieting again. I am trying to bring down my blood pressure which is very high. I've never had BP problems before even though I have a weight issue problem so this concerns me greatly. I hate taking the medication.

Tt's nice to have you hear Nisey. Are you following Atkins or another program?

Thanks Kmartin - Yes I'm following Atkins. This is my 2nd time with Atkins. The first time was 5 yrs ago and I lost 68 lbs and it melted off quickly and easily. Not so now but I'm satisfied with a loss even if it is 1-2 lbs weekly. I don't really have a support system and my husband doesn't understand as he has never gained a pound in his life. So I'm hoping to find this website will be supportive and helpful.

Oh my goodness. I know what you mean. I did Atkins successfully about 6 years ago and lost 50lbs pretty quickly. But when moved right after from California to Florida and Ive slowly gained most of that back - almost all of it. My husband is 6-5 and in the last 12 years have ALWAYS been between 175-185, depending on the time of the year. He tries to be supportive, but I know he has no clue how hard it is. He thinks that if someone wants or needs to lose weight they should by willpower alone. Well feel free to contact me. It's been nice talking to you.

Hi Nisey. We have similar stories. I have HBP for the first time in my life. But what I've found is the more I exercise, the better it gets. It's so tough to start. You'll want to try and keep your daily sodium intake under 1700g's, too. Best of luck to ya, dear! I'm usually on here daily if you need anything. TexasTerra
