Any suggestions? 'Cause this stinks! I've been SO careful - yesterday was

~ no breakfast (no time),
~ no snack,
~ grilled salmon w/ steamed broccoli for lunch,
~ almonds for an afternoon snack
~ sirloin, green beans, salad and half an ear of corn for dinner
~ small piece of splenda cheesecake for dessert

This is essentially what I've been eating all along, except I swap out grilled chicken breast with the salmon, and I will have veggie packed marinara sauce (no pasta). Also I eat breakfast 99% of the time, either eggs or an oatbran or wheat fiber (totally sugar-free).

Water, coffee, Crystal Light, and diet soda all day long in whatever combination. I try very hard to stay hydrated, even if I can't eat. The constipation problem is chronic, but I've started to become used to that, if that's possible!

Other than exercise (I chase 6 kids all day, and that's gotta burn calories), any suggestions? The weight loss/gain seems so arbitrary.

You can't gain 2 lbs. of fat in 3 days. Anytime it fluctuates that quickly it's water. If you eat something that has a little more salt in it one day, you can count on the scales being up the next day. I've started weighing myself several times a day just as an experiment to see how much it fluctuates within the same day. It's amazing. I can be 164 in the morning, 166 at noon, and 169 at the end of the day, and the next morning I'm at 164 again. Just drink a lot of water and watch your sodium for a couple of days and the water weight will come right off.

I agree with Amy. I see a 3 pound fluctuation in my weight every day. I'll be lightest in the morning when I first get up, heaviest right after dinner, then down by a pound again before bed. Although it's frustrating to see that fluctuation, I think you can't let it get to your head too much. The water and salt suggestion is good. Some sustained exercise would probably help too. Maybe you could try to incorporate a 20 min walk (without kids, so you can go at your own pace) every other day? If nothing else, it's a good time to calm your brain and focus on your own needs rather than on others all the time.

Thanks, ladies! I know everyone else must face the same kinds of issues, but it sure helps to pick your brains sometimes! I'm gonna try cutting out the salt and see if that can help shake some of this off.
