I copied this from a post I just wrote, but felt it would fit better here:
I'm a lifetime dieter and have lost much and gained much over my 68, soon to be 69 years. I have entered my weight here in kgs because my husband is on kidney dialysis and uses a kg scale. I write down what it says, then convert it to pounds since that is what I've used all my life. I just discovered that I can change back and force here between kg and lbs. What a treat.
Recently I've lost weight while counting carbs for diabetes. Since I was not dieting and trying to concentrate only on getting my diabetes under control, I paid no attention to calories, or weight loss until my clothes felt too large, I walk out of my shoes and I need to have some links taken out of my watch. I've been averaging 1750 calories since I discovered this, but am gaining weight instead of losing. I know if I was dieting, I would eventually quit with this outcome, but since I am doing it to keep my sugar in control, I have no choice but to keep writing everything down so that I stay well. I also just found out my granddaughter is pregnant and due September 1. I definitely need to stay around and well for that. So here I am trying to lose again.
