Life in 2011 has been tough. We moved from Tbilisi, Georgia to Lagos, Nigeria and if that wasn't tough enough, my partner of 8 years left me two months ago. Devastated. 2012 has to be a better year for me and so, back here I am. I only have myself to please when it comes to food now - and with terrible willpower that is going to be a struggle. I am going to the gym more regularly and my New Year resolution is to lose weight. I am going to start with small steps. Exercise will increase slowly and I hope to eat more healthily. Now is a terrible time to start, just before Christmas but here I am. I would very much welcome any thoughts, ideas and support from you guys.

Hi Karen, sounds like your having a tough time and Im sorry to hear that. Things in 2012 will be better for you. You will learn to take control and achieve all the goals you set before yourself. You are obviously a very strong person so this is possible. Starting slow is a good plan. If you are challenged by changing your food choices one way is to do it one meal at a time. Start off with breakfast for a short period and then move on to lunch ect. Its the same as you are doing for exercise times and increasing. New year, new beginnings. Make it what ever you want it to be. Good luck
