MelodieBr's Journal, 15 November 2011

Today is not a great day. I have done everything right. I have increased my work outs, increased my intensity, added weight training and am drinking a ridiculous amount of water, not to mention watching everything that goes in my mouth and sticking strictly to my calorie intake goals...and I have gained 3 pounds. Seriously?

First google "why the scale lies" for some insight in to water weight gain. If you have just increased time and intensity, your muscles will retain water to help them heal. I can go on a long bike ride and gain 4 pounds the next day. Keep track of your measurements. With all that exercise, you should be losing fat. If your a guy, guys build muscle faster than women and muscle is more dense than fat and takes up less room. So you can go up on the scale and go down is sizes. Give it time and see what happens. You can always adjust your caloric intake down by 100 and see what happens too.

I think you are probably gaining muscle, which is really good, because muscles burns fat, so the more muscles you have the more fat your body will burn. Also, i've noticed if i weigh myself at different times of the day, it varies by a lot!! So i tend to only weigh myself in the AMs and before i eat anything.
