Hey FS,
It's been awhile. I haven't been active here for a long time...ballooned up to about 190lbs back in March-April. I have had so much going on in my life that I let my health slip again. I currently have 7 extra people living in my house. My in-laws, my dad, my brother and sister in-law and their two kids, 2 dogs and 2 cats. It's very hectic considering we have 4 kids of our own still living at home. I gained a lot of weight when my step-son was in the hospital some months back after being mauled by a dog. Eating a lot of junk food in the hospital cafeteria and then a lot of take out once he came home. But anyway, I digress. I started focusing on my health again in May and I have luckily lost 23lbs since then. I am trying to commit to a lifestyle change. I hate this yo-yo dieting. I feel hopeful...my DH is even doing it with me which is really amazing because I am eating a mostly plant based whole foods diet and he is normally such a carnivore! But he is being really supportive. He eats meat when we dine out, and I still make fish for him, but otherwise he is eating what I eat and believe it or not all of his stomach issues have disappeared and he is feeling so much better...lost weight of course too. I think I might be more successful with his support. Anyway, glad to be back!

Sorry to hear about your stepson. I hope he is fully recovered now. Well done on your resolve! Sounds like you need to keep up your good work as you have so many people reliant on your good health and well-being. 23lb is a fantastic achievement! Be proud :)

Thank you KellyM25. He has a long road ahead. The dog bit his face and he had to have a couple of plastic surgeries to fix that as well as his broken jaw. But all of his adult teeth (still inside gums) were shattered so dental surgeries to come in the future as well as a few more jaw surgeries. But he is a resilient little guy, he handles all of it better than we do! And you're right...I need to be healthy to help take care of my family. I always have to remember I matter too :)

I think many of the IF regimens are good here. Basically just staying away from food during long periods of time. Listen on here and it can make a difference.

Dang, well with everyone there, maybe it is like one big party. Keep the peace, and take one day at a time.

It's good to have someone eating with you or at least eating a similar diet in close proximity. Maybe all this closeness becomes a window of opportunity for you.
