LadyinDenim's Journal, 15 July 2016

Today was a fast day. At noon, there was a BBQ at work, and all of the residents and staff were enjoying the outdoors and the meal. I decided to eat because I wanted to be a part of the community. I never eat the food there because of GMOs and sugar, and I'm fairly certain I have a reputation as a food snob.

The dietary staff are the cream of the crop when it comes to attitude and work ethic. I really just wanted to join in. I enjoyed the food, and later told the cook how much I enjoyed it. She was pleased. I also bonded with other staff and had something to chat with residents about.

I ate to satiety, which is a new concept. I sat there feeling full, looking at my plate. A few more bites and it would be done. Then it came to me I would be OVEREATING, so I tossed it. Here is what went in the trash.

Oh. No binge feelings or guilt or cravings.

yes, it takes time for your brain to accept that you are not starving. we have all yo-yo'd, trying new ways to lose and it usually works for a while until you stop whatever program it is, then you gain it back and then some. After a year of clean eating (which will always work) and a lot of research, the thing that works for me is as little processed food as poss. and as much fresh food as you can get your hands on. again, it's not easy, I journal every bite, list the cal. and realized I was eating MUCH more than I tried to convince myself. When I journal'd, I was holding myself accountable and could not make anymore excuses. basically no added salt, no soda of any kind, limit dairy and fat, NO simple carbs! always the death of a diet, pretty soon your body and brain work with you. now what I lose really will be forever, I guess I'm conditioned so to speak. GOOD LUCK! YOU CAN DO THIS @JMA12.
