I hated to record today's weight, but it's not going to drop for a few more days so what the h---.
Read an article on inflammation. It was very interesting. Here's the high-lights I got from it: *Eat lots of vegetables, fruits & Omega 3, anti-oxidants & Vit C. *Inflamatory foods: wheat, sugar, refined carbs & store bought milk *Break the habit of consuming acid foods like cofee & soda. cidity is thought to be one of the major causes of chronic inflamation. *Sodas contain a major contributer to the development of osteoporisis. *Benefits of reducing inflammation are immedite as well as long term. skin looks younger, joints feel better, allergy symptoms improve.
Kind of goes right along the slide show I found from an Atkins poster: *Top 5 supplements to consider: -iron free multi-vitamin = high potency w/plenty B-Complex and anti-oxidants -Omega 3 - EPA/DHA -Magnesium -Vitamin D -Chromium -anti-oxidants (That's 6?)
Another tidbit: Omega 3 fatty acids are important to eye health. The theory is that deficiency of fatty acid intake negatively effects cell renewal in teh retina.Be sure to eat your fatty fish &/or take your supplements. Also Vet C is important to the eyes.
Everything I read seems to lead back to Atkins WOE phase 4. But I do think for the program to work, you need to go through all phases. I don't know if I can do it without their forum for support. I have so much prepackaged quick foods right now though that I think I will just wait until Jan 1 to start. Except for the soda. I need to get rid of that once an for all. I have 4 days off coming up. I'll give it up just before those days, so that i can fight the withdrawals here at home - or would it be easier to fight them when I'm busy at work???? I think it's too accessable at work, I'd give in. Here at home, I'd have to go get it (which I've done before too:(.
