heykreese's Journal, 28 March 2016

I've been doing fantastic, and even earned a 5-lb. loss this past Saturday after 1 week doing LCHF. Then Easter came...and BAM (old habits die hard), I had 7 pieces of chocolate, and then later that evening I had 2 soft corn tortillas with our taco dinner. I had fully intended to skip the shells and make a taco salad...but I figured "heck, I already blew it with the chocolate". When will I learn?

I'm doing fine today and I'm not experiencing anything negative from my oopsie yet, other than a 1-lb. water weight gain, which is less than I expected. Hoping I didn't do too much damage.

Yeah......Easter can be hard......we had sort of a "Mexican Fiesta" ourselves. We used http://ditchthewheat.com/low-carb-tortillas/ for the tortillas. Baked some in 6" Ramekins to make Taco Salad bowls! We use nonstick skillet and NO oil to cook them in. Plugging them into this site was awesome - 10 carbs each. Some cauliflower "Mexican Rice", some GF Chili Relleno. It was a Good Easter! We also made, for the Easter sweets, an Insanely Decadent Chocolate Cake from CutTheWheat.com http://www.cutthewheat.com/2015/01/insanely-indulgent-healthy-chocolate.html JUST AMAZING! No one believed it was GF and made with Swerve, Xylitol, and Stevia. But they ate it all! It is now my FAV cake! 5 carbs alone, 20 with the frosting. My wife loves carrot cake! http://www.cutthewheat.com/2014/02/decadent-carrot-cake-grain-free-sugar.html SAME SITE! Just Awesome! Try the cake..........

If u actually calculate the cals needed to gain a lb in a day you'll be surprised and may realize u didn't do as near of damage as u thought. But don't let that be an excuse to overeat. Don't sweat the corn tortillas I believe they're a better choice than the flour anyway. Pull it in and focus on next weigh in. ;-)

We learn a bit every time we stumble, analyze our mistakes, and move forward. Stay positive and let the weight go negative.
