I really need to stop eating a Taco Bell. Not only is it messing with my diet, but also my wallet. I need to recommit to losing weight. It's hard, since my wife has officially decided not to diet with me. Looks like I am going it alone. I just need to figure out food I can eat when I start getting Hangry, but won't ruin my diet.... Time for some research I guess.

You can do it. I stopped eating Taco Bell by making sure that I always had food in the house that I liked to eat. If I really start craving mexican food, I go to one of the local restaurants and get a real mexican meal or make one myself at home. Recently, I went to Taco Bell and ordered 2 things off their menu. When I ate them they didn't taste as good as I remembered. No regrets since I stopped eating there.

I still enjoy the chicken cantina bowl salad and have them leave off the dressing and the sour cream.

Even tho the wife isn't interested in "dieting", any chance she wants to just eat healthier? That would be helpful....

My suggestions would be go super low carb to reduce cravings. Another option is to log everything you eat so if you eat a taco, add it to your food log, it may be 600 calories but if you set an RDI for 1500 calories a day, you can still eat 900 more. I started by eating what I wanted BUT logging the food and tracking my caloric intake.

Taco salad in a bowl instead of in the taco shell bowl thing. Just ask they will do that for you. also ask they leave the beans out and then you have a low carb taco salad.

Cut processed food, junk food, fast food, and sugary food and you'll be off to a great start.

You got that right, Phil. Easier said than done, but you are the testament!

those guys are right, the processed food is horrible for us. but, if you are going to eat at TB, for whatever reason, have a plan - get 1 item which is least horrible - and be satisfied with that. in the future, you may find saying no to that 1 item is eaaaaaasy.
