Really great service at Nomad today, it's really strange for me to admit that church is actually fun again and that I look forward to going every week.

My deceased BILs son Sean and DIL Brenda showed up this morning unexpectedly for service today and it was a pleasant surprise, I haven't seen them since Allen's memorial service.

The unfortunate part of it is that they were up here from West Palm to go visit Allen's brother Larry, who was moved to a Hospice House today; it doesn't look as if he will be with us much longer. I feel bad for Allen's Dad, since February he has buried a wife and one son and now it looks as if the other son will be number three. Dad is 88 years old, and he has two daughters as well that thankfully are in good health.

I took my sister up there this afternoon and we stayed several hours, the facility is only six months old and it is beautiful. Only twelve beds and there is 24 hour care. The rooms are huge and beautifully appointed, there are even double french doors that open out to a screened porch built to accomodate the hospital bed, which can be wheeled out there for the patient to enjoy the birds and trees and sky.

My sis didn't do well at first because Larry looks so much like Allen laying there in bed and even makes some of the same facial expressions and sounds. We were all with her, and with Judy, Larry's wife. We will probably go back up there tomorrow afternoon after my doctor's appointment.

On a brighter note I was welcomed at church today like a returning hero, I got high fives and enough attagirls to keep to self esteem tank topped off for a bit, and quite a few hugs as well. I proudly wore my new shiny shirt that was part of my race package. It was cool and the design of the shirt has a very nice slimming effect on the side, maybe I'll take a pic and share it here.

Well off to bed with this intrepid runner, I must be rested to kick some further ass on the doctors' scale tomorrow!

Peace, and wonderful wishes for a fantastic week!

Sorry for all the loss. I work for a hospice and we have a hospice house here too that we just opened about 3 years ago. It is a beautiful and peaceful place. Glad you are back at church and enjoying it!

Hi Christy I have nothing but good things to say about Hospice, they were there for us when Allen came home until he passed and they are just as caring at the hospice facility. Judy, who is the wife of the patient at hospice house, recently retired after 35 years of nursing, mostly for Hospice. Nomad rocks!

That is one of our big things too, Bren, we want everyone to feel loved and cared for the instant they enter our doors. It can make a big difference in someone's life - it did mine! Have a great evening!
