HA HA HA yea if I wanna piss him off lol tears don't go over well in this house... you don't cry unless your bleeding, broken or someone died.... but i didn't know this place would be so bad for me.... I feel so sick... and I'm rocking my baby to sleep so it's making it worse. ... if I knew then what I know now I would have just stuck with the water.... I didn't finish all the chili but it's still killing me. .... and I can't really complain either or it will be another 2 months till he tries to take me out. so I will suffer in silence.

Wow, you have a very considerate husband...

Even if I go over my carbs, I try to stay under 1500 calories. Maybe sugar free jello with unsweetened whipped cream? A bottle of powerade zero fills me up for awhile.

He's just not very emotional.... I'm not very emotional either.... I don't like crying, makes me feel weak so i avoid it......... and if he thinks he made a mistake by taking me out he won't want to make the mistake again.... atleast not until he forgets lol... he didn't think it would be so bad either.... just a bad choice of places for me at the moment. but i tell ya.. I'm not going to another restaurant unless it's a steak place... I know they have meat and they usually have broccoli so I'd be set and wouldn't have to worry about feeling so crappy.

Get take out menus from different places and look until you find something you can have. Be prepared before you go out. I generally stop with the salad, grilled chicken or steak if possible. If not I will buy the sandwich and ask for a fork - eat the filling, leave the bread. It works where ever you stop. Hey, a garden salad with philly cheese steak toppings is out of this world! Double whopper Jr. (way too much meat) flip the burgers together, fixin's in the middle, throw out the bun!

good idea shea! I wish I would have had time to check out the menu but he wanted to go between his stock trading so we kinda just ran out the door lol

If I sway from my goals, I don't waste any time punishing myself. Food is to be enjoyed. My dietary plan is not my master. If a diet plan is brutal, it's not for me. Instead of looking at the carb load, you can check the overall calories and plan the rest of the day to fit within the calorie range. Tomorrow you'll be back on schedule. As the WWII poster said, keep calm and carry on.

Feel better! Maybe it's time for a mini-fast. :-) And a nap with the baby.

Kids are home from school and husband has been off work. .. no naps for me. ... the diet isn't brutal but that meal sure made me feel horrible. I feel great when I follow what im supposed to

:( Sometimes that's a good reminder and gives your more resolve when you find yourself faced with a temptation in the future. I'm glad your hubby wanted to take you out today! Be well. Hope you feel better soon. {hugs}

Maybe he thought soups and sandwiches were healthy? I guess they are depending on your diet and what kind you eat? He tried ;)

you are at 23% of your intake... you have plenty of room, so what ,you go over your carbs for one day eh whatever. DO IT! go eat some chicken or lean steak, your fats and proteins all still very low.

Somewhere in there is a compromise place where you can have an impromptu lunch with your hub and keep close to your plan AND not make your hub think it's too much of a production to deal with you over a lunch out. One lunch does not a disaster make. So today you learned something that doesn't work. Develop a fallback plan or two for when the opportunity arises again.

Ya I guess it's not that big of a deal.. just really made me feel sick... but it's not like I can't eat the rest of the day or anything yup just gotta plan ahead.

Alone4ever, carbs DO make some of us fat. Every body is different, and we process food differently. If I eat a baked potato, I GAIN weight, even if this is all I eat all day. I can drink bulletproof coffee, which is basically many, many fat calories, and I LOSE weight. Use the program that helps you and don't diss others for utilizing what works for them.

next time do what i do, eat the inside of the sandwich and leave the bread! i use a knife & fork, or even just roll the inside into a tube and pick up with my fingers. once in a while i get some funny looks, but not as often as you might think. more and more people are starting to reduce their carbs so they get it. i do the same with pizza, scrape the top off and leave the bread. the cheesy topping goodness is the best part of pizza anyway!

Chili can do that to you anyway, even if you aren't on a low-carb plan. Bean-o can help.
