Question
I don't use much sweetener. Every now and then in tea, usually anything minty. Just used a little bit (maybe 1/4 of a packet) of "Stevia in the Raw" and took a look at the ingredients. To my surprise I found dextrose listed on first place. Does anyone have a suggestion what to use?

Look on "NowFoods.com" Liquid Stevia: Vegetable Glycerin, BetterStevia™ [Certified Organic Stevia Extract (Stevia rebaudiana) (Leaf)], De-ionized Water and Purified Stevia Extract (Stevia rebaudiana) (Leaf). Whatever product you decide on...those are the ingredients you want....

For coffee and tea I've switched to SweetLeaf Stevia drops. I like the flavored ones depending on what I'm drinking. For other uses, I use the Trader Joes Organic Stevia. It's the small jar and somewhat expensive but a jar will last us for months. The ONLY ingredient in it is Stevia. The larger jar I think is in a base of something else. I question whether a lot of these are truly organic - but if Stevia is the only ingredient listed, I figure I have a better chance of it being what it says it is. I read an article the other day on Truvia. It's highly processed and the main ingredient is Erythritol.

I use skinny Girl liquid stevia. they say the liquid sweeteners are better than the powder because of something they have to use to make the power. I bought some packs of stevia on line last year was very expensive. was like $ 11.00 for a box of 100 and that was on sale. called all natural sweet herb stevia with inulin. made with stevia extract. the ingredients are inulin, stevia extract, silica. has no lactose. very sweet use less than half a pack.

Any artificial sweeteners are not good due to the added junk. I am a true believer in "a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down." As long as you are using it every now and then there is nothing wrong with sugar. Problems occur when we abuse. However, if you are a diabetic, I would ask you to see your doctor.
