Back from a trip to Asia. It was a topsy-turvy world, thirteen hours ahead of Eastern STD time. I just went with the flow and enjoyed the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! The people who hosted my stay were most gracious, going out of their way to make sure i ate vegetable dishes.

At the hotel i was able to eat a raw salad to begin each day. I had plenty of fruits and vegetables during my 3 weeks abroad. I did get to a few vegan/vegetarian restaurants, and i had many vegetable-based soups. Unfortunately, a lot of oil is used to prepare most of the cooked veggie dishes in Beijing.

I saw Western fast-food franchises, pizza joints and a portion of the young population appeared to be rather overweight, with pimpled skin that was stressed and angry. Wow - that's what happens when trading off traditionally prepared meals in favor of cheap fast-food.

So i know i gained back a few pounds - i can see and feel it. Part of me is Afraid to go find out the number. I still fit in the jeans i bought just before embarking on my trip, so i couldn't have strayed too far off the mark.

I find myself back at home, recovering, and getting back to where i left off.
