ShyGuy's Journal, 03 September 2011

It seems that no matter how many successes we have, there's always something lurking, around the corner, that threatens to give you a setback. My net carbs are extremely low today. I still have a cheese danish, in the fridge that I forgot was there, prior to beginning Induction. The thought crossed my mind, it wouldn't hurt me if I ate half of it; I could still be under 30 net carbs for the day, and it wouldn't matter. The truth of it is; it would hurt, because there's no way I would stop at half, and even though it would be gone, and I'd be back on track tomorrow, it's still not worth it. I generally suffer from leg cramps, after being on low carb for a while, and suddenly eat something with that much sugar in it. So, yes, it would hurt, painfully. Just the thought of that, and knowing that it would throw my system out of sync, was enough to bring me back to reality, and leave the danish alone. I can give it to my brother when I see him on Tuesday, and it will no longer be a threat; just lurking in the fridge, waiting for a moment of weakness. So, I guess I win again; this time.

Great job fighting the temptation, but frankly I would throw it in the trash while you are strong.....it is just not worth it. Unless it is your test piece LOL...I am tempted lots of times but actually surprised the longer I am on this they don't tempt me so much anymore. Also if I do eat something now off plan,(which is rare) it does not seem to throw me off track. But I will never take that for granted because it may throw me off track the next time. But you do win so good job.....keep up the good work........

You did not succumb, but frankly, I would throw the little "fox" IN THE TRASH. Your brother probably doesn't need it either. BTW, I too get terrible leg cramps from sugar, not worth it. Fix yourself a minute muffin and top it with cream cheese, not bad at all. I am proud of you to have resisted so far, but don't tempt yourself too much ;D
