Toni Bourlon's Journal, 28 March 2024

Scale was up today - it's amazing how my mood is set by those numbers! I felt like a failure, I ranted & raved about how useless this diet appears to be, or if I'd stuck with it better, blah blah blah.... But then I remembered my goal was to stick with the plan for 3 weeks, THEN re-evaluate. Okay, so I can't do the lower body fix today because of my knee (which is a little better), so I will repeat the upper body fix instead. Focus on what I CAN do. And yeah, try to stick with the diet part better. I did get in a Pilates workout yesterday, no you won't lose weight doing Pilates but your muscles do get strengthened & more flexible. I splurged a bit on a bagel for breakfast, will have salmon for lunch & salad with some chicken for dinner. Let's do this!

I know what you are saying about mood being determined by scale. I am exactly the same. I love pilates. I do a fairly low impact version but I have become addicted. We got it

I m glad you were able to regroup! And as for losing weight (or not)with Pilates, I sweat like a 🐷 during Pop Pilates...so maybe it's possible to lose?lol

Don't let minor increases upset you. Attitude if far more important than numbers. I'm the king of plateaus so I understand how you feel. It may be better to weigh once a week. If you're doing everything right, the scale will move in its own time.

Consistency is key. Just do a little something everyday and keep moving. You’ll see a difference. Even in your mood. ❤️

The thing to remember is that you’ve made a lifestyle change that can’t be measured day by day. If you lose today, so be it. Win tomorrow!

Don’t weigh yourself everyday, take a mental break. And give any plan 90 days. It’s a marathon not a sprint!
