Addie Aline's Journal, 15 November 2015

I know I haven't been here much the last few days, I've been busy and stressed still stressed I can't help it. Has anyone that uses opiates for pain and was going to have surgery and be under anesthesia ever been told if your pain is bad that morning to go ahead and take the opiates the morning of surgery at 8:30 am. I filled out more papers on the phone yesterday and that's what the woman said the anesthesiologist wants does that sound right to any of you?

I've been trying to get my errands finished because of driving and when my DH took me to the store Friday I shopped as usual not remembering I won't be able to go next Saturday because I truly will house bound, I'll just have to deal with it because I won't drive. When I did Wednesday I knew that had to be the last time for awhile.

I blew my WOEing Friday I knew it was coming I just felt it and them my body revolted against me, I felt awful but I did get right back on yesterday. I felt awful from it yesterday but somewhat better today. I'm hoping that was my splurge and will do better now.

Hope everyone has a great upcoming week.

Girlkay, I would call the dr but this woman was taking info for the anesthesiologist and I don't know who that dr is. I may call my dr tomorrow anyway. I just feel like she'll say that's his call. Maybe it'll be better and I won't need it. By the way opiates are pain killers.

I had hip surgery and they told me to stop all drugs. antiinflammatory, etc one week before the surgery so you would not bleed excessively. I would check also with the dr. After the surgery you will have plenty of meds for pain . I would NOT suggest anything that could thin the blood. You need to double check.

I've always been told no meds before surgery so I was worried about this. But the nurse will ask what you have taken and I'm sure wouldn't do surgery if not ok..good luck and my pain meds were Loratabs's 5 after back surgery I got 10's but to me the pain didn't ease so I do without now....I don't like to take drugs but the ones that I really have to use such as b/p,heart and blood thinner. I have A-Fib. And sciatica nerve damage to my leg that started in my lower back and Had surgery to repair a T11/12 split that came from falling down too many times from leg being weak.
