Been naughty with the cakes again...(blush)...I have had such intense sugar cravings in the past couple of weeks. Whats the key to stopping sugar cravings?

The only solution that works for me is not to buy anything "bad" unless I intend to eat it that day and I have planned it into my calorie count....it's not foolproof though!

Slow release carbs instead? or a bowl of enticing fruit? (I have to chop it up or I'm too lazy to eat it!)

I don't know, but when you find out, let me know. I would have to say fructose may help as most cravings are your mind saying your body needs something. Its just that in this day and age its far too easy to reach for something sweet like cakes, which really don't satisfy that pang other than by way of a sugar spike. Thus you tend to eat more of them. I have just bought a various array of fruit to see what works for me. The usual apples oranges, blueberry, raspberry and for a trial some juicy figs.

Stop eating sugar and sweet things , and the cravings will fade. Yes I know easier said than done! How about low cal hot chocolate if you are desperate?

Thanks all for your advice. I think its just occurred to me why this is happening. I'm not much of a fruit person, but I love bananas. However for the past few weeks due to a change in my commute, I haven't been buying any. Normally I will have a banana in the afternoon but I haven't been doing that, so I am looking around for other sweet things I guess. Well, I suppose my body is telling me something :-) get back on the naughty monkey snacks! And yes, I did notice my chocolate cravings were non exsistent when I was having a banana every day. It just felt easier to be good!
