GlennM's Journal, 21 September 2009

Hi everyone - for those of you who know me, I've been on here almost two years now. Anyway, I haven't been on regularly since April since I haven't had a computer and I can see the site has so many new people on who I don't know. I am doing OK, I did lose the weight I needed to lose. I'm on maintenance now, I am cheating too much. I think for all of you new dieters if you can totally stop those cheat days and get that exercise in you will get to your goal. It just takes lots of willpower. And maybe avoid too many parties. There's always an excuse to go to them. Around the holidays I guess it's OK - but I went to like two last year and gained over five pounds from pigging out. Right now I'm at the library, my dog Toto is back with me, a neighbor wanted her and so I gave her to him - his name is Shaun, and fifteen days later he dropped her at the door - this was three and a half weeks ago and she ran right in like she never left. So I'm not giving her away again. Some sad news, I heard my physician's assistant - who is younger than me I believe is ill and had to stop working - he was very nice, I hope he'll be OK, I was seeing him at the Veteran's Hospital. Otherwise the writing is going very well, I have a huge medical bill to pay for the coming months, which sucks. So I hope to get a computer soon but that is delaying it for now... Hope you are all well. Keep with this diet it will work if you stick to it. I like the low carb pasta, buy it when it is on sale.

Good to see you again Glenn. Sorry to hear about the big bills but, in general you sound OK. I'll take a look at the low carb pasta, thanks for the tip. Try to hang around more often.

Hi info, there is low carb bread too. I use it for making sandwiches. Pepperidge Farms makes the brand I eat and it is very good. One store in my town sells the pasta, the other the bread! So I have to go to both, but it's OK. My weight is steady. I'm at the library again, I sign in through my email, that is a way to get on if anyone is say travelling with their computer. I'm not dating right now like I've been planning, but am going to go to a more liberal church where I've heard there is more of a community spirit. I've met no one at my church and have been going for over a decade and don't know anyone's name in the whole place. My friends and I were talking about our first celebrity crushes and mine was Diana Rigg of 'The Avengers' TV show from the 1960s, years back in Los Angeles I asked my friend Dan who collected autographs if he had any pictures of her, he did but she was one who refused to sign pictures of herself when she was young. I have a crush on a female celebrity now, but she is younger than my adult nieces, she's in her 20s, so I think I should look at women a little more in my age range. Anyway, this diet works - I'm proof. I was around 260 years ago, and now I'm steady around 200 and at almost 6'3" tall I'm not overweight anymore. I can't wait to get a computer - I miss reading everyone's posts. Hopefully in a few months... Glenn

Hey Glen. Thanks for mentioning the bread too, I use bread quite a lot. Re: Church, I'm afraid I haven't been much of a good Christian lately and would be happy if they just offered doughnuts and coffee in the church I go to. :-) Female celebrity: nothing prevents you from enjoying the dream and who knows? Excellent job on the diet, I see you are about 10 pounds above your goal which is, basically, nothing at all. I've been looking at the Lenovo u350 as an intermediate machine. Yesterday, I saw some really snazzy 13' (I believe) Dells at Costco and thought: "Dell is recovering." Good Luck!
