Sparxx43's Journal, 30 August 2015

I've had a couple of attempts at fasting. Decided it's not for me. After breakfast I can't go all the way to dinner without eating something. Not hungry, just need to taste something. I've drunk so much coffee (much of which I didn't bother putting in my food log). Probably better for me personally not to fast!

Fasting is probably a very bad idea for it will put your body into starvation mode, causing your metabolism to slow down=bad. To keep your metabolism up, have 5 small meals throughout the day instead of 3 big ones :3 good luck!

You'd have to go a long longer than I have to put the body in starvation mode. Some people on here seem to like it. But it doesn't suit me personally. I've been doing okay as I was so I don't really know why I'm trying to change things. But thanks for the advice :-)

fasting is a personal choice and it does work for some but not for others, you are doing right by doing what you know that works. If and when you reach that plateau that we all experience then it might be time to try something else until then stay with what you got. The 5:2 will work because you cut down on carbs and a lot of carbs we have are from sugar. Not everyone can go through 24 hours with only 500 calories, it doesn't take into account your lifestyle. yes everyone can go without food for 24 hours but by god the cravings come on so why set yourself up to fail. Try it if it works great, if it doesn't move on. I never tell anyone anything is perfect, what I try to do is give suggestions as to what they could try, or give an alternative that could help, in the early days motivation is the key, then it becomes the norm, then it all kicks in and starts working. Sorry didn't mean to ramble on and bore you

You're not boring me :-) I like to hear people's opinions, but I make my own mind up. I take quite a heavy medication, so I probably shouldn't be looking at fasting anyway. Keeping my calories under 1200 and doing a bit of exercise seems to be working for now.

that's a good calorie count 1200, should be enough to keep the hunger pangs at bay, just, that's 800 less than the government guidelines for a woman. However the has been some suggestions that hey GDA guidelines are a little high. A loss of 500 calories a day equates to approx. 2lb weight loss per week, the exercise will also ad to this as well as tone those muscles, how is the push ups coming on?

I haven't started yet. Thought I'd follow it to the letter. Said after the initial test take a day before starting. Do them 3 times a week. (A day for muscle repairs). So I thought I'd do Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

yes most people work on Mon/Wed/Fri routine as it fits in well with the week end fingers crossed and good luck to you, I havnt seen you meal planner but so long as you have some good quality protein your muscles should repair quite well, Don't forget to carry out stretches afterwards this will help displace any build of latic acid, help prevent D.O.M.S reduce stiffness in the chest area. Hold all your stretches for about 15 - 20 seconds. (sorry I am not trying to teach you to suck eggs but I am not sure about your knowledge on muscles and stretching)good luck,

I'm pretty bad when it comes to stretching. But I'll make sure I do it. Thanks.
