I have one week to get my sugars within the appropriate ranges or I'm going to have to do medication/insulin. Boo.

So, I'm doing a 21 day challenge of no white bread, chips, soda, or sweets. Going to eat clean: proteins, cheese, fresh veggies and fresh fruit until 1BB makes his arrival. This is particularly tough as I find pregnancy cravings to be out of this world at times. But, I have no choice if I want to avoid medicine. And, I really don't want 1BB to have to be exposed to anything unnecessary.

I had a really tough past week and a half. One of my horses died expectantly, water line broke in the basement, and storms toppled a tree over barely missing the house. My diet went out the window. So, now I'm here once again remembering why eating my emotions has no true benefit and actually makes things much worse.

Jogging stroller should be here Monday. I had fallen back to one hour of intense exercise three times a week last week. But, I have to push that back up now to an hour daily to get those blood sugars back in range. Now stuck with having to go to the OB weekly at $45 copay per visit. Add that to the hospital copays for the extra ultrasounds and I'm figuring this baby is quite expensive. Still undecided on a name. Maybe I should call him Money. Haha

Plan for today:
Yogurt and light cheese for breakfast
Subway Double Chicken Salad lunch
yogurt and light cheese for snack
Chicken salad wraps for dinner
1 hour Elliptical at the gym tonight

***Only a few more weeks. So what if I can't indulge like other pregnant women. It will be less to lose once I have him, right?

I know you can do it, you've conquered things far more difficult. Diet is going to be your biggest method to get the blood sugar down. You arn't very sensitive to your body's insulin during pregnancy, so exercising intensely may not have as much of an impact on your sugars as you would like. If your body cant absorb it from the blood then baby gets all that extra sugar. If you do end up using insulin rest assured the baby will get non of that. It is the safest way to manage gestational diabetes other than diet modifications. The high sugar is more of a risk to baby than insulin would be, but I have complete confidence you can handle this without having to go on insulin. Thinking of you often, glad you're holding up well despite the hard times.
